    Doors open at 4:00 p.m. on Friday and close at 7:00 p.m. The hamfest will reopen at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday and close at 4:00 p.m. with the grand prize drawing.

    Admission

    Admission is $10.00 and this includes 1 prize ticket. Admission is good for both days of the Hamfest. Children under 12 are free. .

    Prizes

    A wide variety of prizes will be awarded. Stay tuned for a list of those in the coming months. There will be hourly prizes (Winner must be present). And a Grand Prize (Winner need not be present).

    License Exams

    Amateur radio license exams will be given at 9:00 AM on Saturday in the Fireside Room. The $10 Hamfest admission is not required for testing. Those wishing to test will need to bring two forms of ID (one with a picture), and a copy of any existing Amateur License or CSCE, if applicable. Please pre-register at http://hamstudy.org The testing fee is $15 for anyone over 16 years old. Fees for those 16 and under will be paid by the Birmingham Amateur Radio Club on their behalf. Also, anyone 18 and under who passes the Technician Exam will receive a Yaesu dual band HT from the ARA Group. For more information contact John Outland, K3FP, (205) 354-5258.

    Dealer, Vendor & Flea Market Information

    Inside Flea Market Set-up is scheduled for Friday beginning at 12:00 Noon for vendors with a prior reservation and beginning at 1:30 PM for walkups. The facility will open on Saturday at 7:00 AM for additional move-in. This will allow 90 minutes for move-in before opening to the public at 8:30 AM.

    Each year at BirmingHAMfest, the Birmingham Amateur Radio Club makes a special presentation of the Citizenship Award. This is the highest honor awarded by the Birmingham Amateur Radio Club in recognition of outstanding service, unselfish devotion and contributions to the Club, the community, and to the Amateur Radio Fraternity. The recipient is selected by the President and two past recipients of the award.
